The Jörð Spa Experience
Welcome to Jörð
Norfolk’s place to warm up, chill out and feel right at home.
From Campsites in the parks to cottages on the beach, guests arrive from all over but most are from just around the corner. 15 minutes down a dusty road, like most stops in Norfolk.
It’s never a far drive, but once you’re here, it feels like you stepped out of your routine and into something a little slower. It’s the first moment of connection and you haven’t even entered the gate.
The fire is already crackling, the smell is in the air and even if you’re a little nervous about the cold plunge the space and people make it easy to get settled in.
Joro was built by locals who care deeply about connection, comfort and the healing traditions of the hot and cold therapy.
The Hydrotherapy Cycle
Wood-Fired Cedar Sauna
Where the cycle begins and your body starts to relax.
There’s something different about a wood-fired sauna. We say it’s the crackle of the fire, the scent of cedar, and the way your body instantly starts to unwind.
As you step into the warmth, your muscles release. Your breath deepens. The world slows down. That’s the magic of heat, it supports your circulation, eases tension, and gently wakes up your system from the inside out.
You’ll start to sweat. That’s good. It’s your body letting go of stress, toxins, and tightness.
Most guests spend around 10 to 15 minutes inside, but it’s not a rule. Everyone’s comfort level is different. What matters is that you listen to your body and take your time. Some guests sit quietly. Others lay back and close their eyes. However you show up in the sauna it’s enough, the magic is working.
Our cedar sauna usually sits between 70–90°C, fuelled by real wood and good energy
Make sure you drink water before and after. And don’t be surprised if you leave this step already feeling better than when you arrived.
Cold Plunge Tubs
It’s true, it's cold, There’s no getting around it. Once you take the leap, you’ll understand why so many people call the plunge their favourite part of the experience.
That first shock of cold, that’s your body waking up. Circulation kicks in, your breath sharpens then your mind begins to clear.
somewhere around the 30 second mark but for some it might be as long as 2 minutes, but a strange thing happens, you begin to feel more alive, calm, and focused all at once.
The cold helps reduce inflammation, ease muscle soreness, and boost your mood through a natural wave of endorphins. While the benefits are real, the experience is what keeps people coming back.
At Jörð, we always say the best way to get through it, is go is all in.
We offer two plunge options so you can meet the cold at your own pace:
A gentler tub between 8–10°C for those new to cold exposure
A deeper challenge at 2–4°C for the brave or more curious
Whichever you choose, please rinse off before entering and always listen to your body. If it’s your first time, don’t worry, we are here to walk you through it but we wont fit in the tub with you.
The Fire Circle
Rest. Reconnect. Repeat.
After the heat and the cold, this is where things settle.
You’ll find your robe, grab your towel, and make your way to the fire. Listen to the logs crackle on the fire as the steam rises off your skin, and the mood softens.
This part of the cycle is just as important. It’s where your body recalibrates and your nervous system catches up. This is also where the little moments happen, a deep breath, a quiet laugh, a “how was that?” exchanged between guests, sometimes with shared laughter.
Some come to sit quietly and reflect. Others swap stories, sip tea, or stare at the flames until they're ready to go again. Either way, this is your space to just be. It’s the part that brings it all together. Whether you’re here with a friend, a partner, or just yourself, the fire is where connection naturally happens, no pressure to brave the cold, no script. Just warmth and time.
